David the man after Gods own heart.
God looked around on the earth and found a man that he could say, this is the man after mine own heart.
Favor with God and man.
Whatever God, asked David to do he would do. Even if a Goliath stood in the way.
Can God say that about you.
I want us to discuss and look at the favor that David had with God and man. Vertical and horizontal relationships are needed to be successful.
Luke : 52
The Bible tell us that when was Jesus was growing up , he increased in stature, Wisdom and favor with God and man.
This verse has always struck me. Favor with God and man. Let’s see how we can see the favor God gave David with man.
David and Samuel
Samuel the King maker!
Samuel the prophet of God! The King maker! God used his prophets to select leaders for his kingdom advancement. Samuel located David to be King! Favor was already working on David, when he was in the fields, but needed a man to locate him!
Samuel, although a prophet, held the anointing of Kings.
He anointed David, under unusual circumstances in his household. He anointed a King who was loyal to God! The people had chosen Saul by public acclamation and yet God wanted a man after his own heart. Theo ~cracy is a government that obeys Gods laws and upholds Gods laws.
In fact, truth be told, God wanted to lead the people himself through a prophet. God still wants to lead his people, but we have to have discernment, revelation and see what God wants for us!
Why? For we fight not flesh and blood, but
putting powers and principalities.
David was a surprise, no one actually expected anything of him. No one ever thought he was likely to be Israel’s Greatest King. Or amount to
You will be surprise to people in this season.
You will beat their expectation of you!
You will be something !
People will be bewildered by the thunderbolt favor of heaven over your life.
That a shepherd boy should be placed on the throne of a great empire.
It’s not where you come from, it’s where you are going with God that counts!
The youngest son of an Undistinguished family, without anyone supporting him, despised by his family, unfit for practical service according to his household, except to be cast to shepherding, usually allocated to slaves, and outcasts. Found favor with God! Favor and Grace are not age bound.
The prophetic anointing of Samuel to David
The unexpected happened that day!
May the unexpected happen to you!
The oil that breaks the yokes, was poured on David’s head. Isaiah 10:27 burden removing yoke!
The yoke of words spoken against David by his family were broken.
The fervent and effectual prayer of the righteous availeth much. James 5:16
David must have been in prayer and meditating in the fields. Prayer works wonders! Pray always.
Samuel himself was astonished!
When Gods favour is upon you, you will astonish people!
Favor of God is a shock factor. You will shock them!
You will greatly surprise people, when the grace of God is upon you.
The family was dumbfounded. May the favor of God dumbfound people!
Favor silences people. Favor confounds the wise, May they be confounded by his favor upon your life.
The word suddenly appears a lot in the Bible describing the move of God! It appears on more than 167 incidences. Suddenly on that day of the anointing of David, people were amazed, and stupefied. The sudden will of God is favor upon his people.. May-something sudden happen in your life. Gods “suddenly” has no warning or notice or indication that it is about to happen. Some people will be made stupid, as they witness Gods favor upon your life. Gods favor is not fair. It happens without notice!
Acts 10:38
God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holyghost! Yes! Jesus was anointed!
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
I can only image what this looked like! And the power and charge that must have been a wonder to record! Seek anointing to empower you to fulfill your destin calling!
David and Jonathan
The warrior Prince.
The crown Prince with a heart and conscious!
Destiny helpers!
There would be no David, if there was no Jonathan.
The power of submission of a crown Prince!
Eagles hang around eagles.
Don’t be an eagle that hangs around chickens!
A friend, who is closer to David than blood ties. A heroic character ! A real crown prince!
Jonathan was a true knight of God! There are some people who are just used by God, not on the pulpit or in positions but to further someone in life. Jonathan, I salute you for being such a good and true friend to David. My message to you reading this is to: Stay away from foolish friends..There was not a dark spot in Jonathan’s character. Not a single crooked line in this man’s conduct.He influenced David a lot. Stay away from foolish friends. Otherwise you can become like them. Study people before you can be their friends.
Don’t just become friends with anyone! Doing Gods work is one thing, but becoming friends with people is another. Jonathan was a warrior prince, who fought with his army till the death. He had a covenant relationship with David. This story should be made into movie.
There are some people who you have covenant relationships with. Stop wasting your time with foolish friends. Get away from chicken typed people.
Two best friends , fighters and warriors. Both were brave and audacious to the point of madness. Jonathan like his best friend David was a brilliant fighter. He could take on a garrison ( army troop) single handedly…like his friend.
Get away from foolish friends, you will end up like them. He fought a war at Geba, his three thousand men reduced to six hundred. Thousands killed, but he waged on. A true leadership hero. He daringly single-handedly remarkably and successfully fought the enemy back. Jonathan, I salute you. David chose a good friend! Stay away from foolish friends, you will become like them. Jonathan was a mighty warrior, a master fighter. He died in Mount Gilboa, in the battle against the Philistines. Samuel has foreseen his death in battle! 1 Samuel 31: 1~5
In the face of adversary Jonathan did not turn back!
Never turn back ! His bow never retired. He was willing to sacrifice himself to something he believed. Together with his friend they defeated armies in battles.
He must have been there when he watched David kill and slaughter Goliath the Philistine.
He must have cheered David on! Celebrated with David. Have friends that celebrate your Victory. Friends that help you become the best you, that God created you to be.
In deliverance Ministry most demons are sent by your wrong foolish friends, people who are jealous and gossip about you and wish for you to fall. Stay away from foolish friends.
True friends, influence and impact each other. David learnt a lot of statesmanship from Jonathan. How to behave as a Prince. David learnt from Jonathan. This is why he sought Jonathan’s cripple child and Mephiboseth, David showed him honor. Testimony of his pure friendship and the submission of Jonathan to David. Jonathan has a high destiny.
David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. 2 Samuel 9:7 : There are few examples in history where a King is moved to such compassion for his friends children. David later built a proper tomb for the remains of his friend Jonathan. Do you think King Charles would honor his friends children to live with him in the Palace.
Choosing between what’s right
Choose the right decisions.
The decisions and sides you take now will determine destiny for your children.
Jonathan chose the right side. In your family do you choose the right side? Or do you chose the side with money, power and influence. Jonathan chose David.
My father Saul seeks to kill you. Therefore please be on your guard until morning, and stay in a secret place and hide: Jonathan was a protector of David. Jonathan: Revealer of hidden truths, a real help in times of trouble and danger. Covenant friends clothed in the Holyspirit. Jonathan defended David to his father. “You rejoiced and saw it” …..Can your friends see and magnify your greatness behind your back!
Jonathan died fighting for Israel, his kingdom and country. There are a few examples of this loyalty in friendships! Todays friends take away your husband, gossip about you. Laugh at you behind your back. They take away your business projects and business sponsors, business customers and business partners. These are not friends! Stay away from foolish friends!
David and Saul.
Saul was over forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty two years. This is when I learnt that God is patient. He was patient with Saul.
Demon possessed King :
Hatred, Jealousy, sacrificed his destiny through a disobedience.
Foolishness.
Sometimes, we need to be disturbed by Saul in order for our brilliance to shine. David became brilliant King. Saul had been used by God to push David into destiny. Sometimes what we are running away from is what we are supposed to be.
What is it that you are running from and hiding from, could it be what God wants you to be.
Stop running!
Stoping hiding!
Let your light shine! Put your light on pedestal! Let your light shine before men and that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:14–16.)
Stay away from foolish friends!
