NORMAN Mapeza has stepped down as FC Platinum coach after serving the club for a collective ten-and-a-half years.
The former Warriors gaffer’s match against Dynamos on Sunday was his last in the dugout for FC Platinum.
He first joined FC Platinum in 2014 before leaving during the mid-season in 2019 when he went to South Africa for a short stint with Chippa United.
Mapeza then returned in 2020 and led the side to date.
During his time at Platinum, he won three of the four Castle Lager Premier Soccer League championships that FC Platinum has in 2017, 2018, and 2022.
Other than three league championships, the former Monomotapa coach also won two Chibuku Super Cup trophies, in 2015 and in 2021.
“I am stepping down as FC Platinum head coach. It has been a good time for me at the club; I made so many achievements that I will forever cherish.
“What I failed to do, I failed, but in the end, I honestly thank everyone I worked with,” said Mapeza.
Besides FC Platinum, Mapeza has also coached Monomotapa in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, a side with which he won the Chibuku Super Cup in 2008. – NewZimbabwe
