ALTHOUGH many had written his team off for the title race this season, Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu remains optimistic that his side can still win the league.

With 12 games to go, Bosso is currently occupying the third position on the log with 38 points, nine behind log leaders Simba Bhora, who are on 47 points.

Already football analysts are saying the race is now amongst three teams, namely log leaders Simba Bhora, second-place occupiers FC Platinum and defending champions Ngezi Platinum Stars who are sitting in position four with a game in hand.

Early this week, Chicken Inn head coach Joey “Mafero” Antipas ruled his team out of the title race and even opined that the race is now amongst the above-mentioned three teams.

Asked if he is still hopeful of winning the title this season during a press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash against Herentals, the Highlanders coach said everything is possible because the race is still open.

“No one has been declared as a winner, the race is still on for everyone. There are still a number of points which we need to fight for.

“With a bit of consistency, I think we can be there and make it,” said Kaindu.

Bosso started on a high which saw them sitting on the league’s summit during the first quarter of the season. However, they limped along the race, giving a chance to Manica Diamonds, who have also lost their form. — NewZimbabwe
