Herentals Queens’ quest for CAF Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers glory was on Thursday ended by Botswana’s Gaborone United Ladies who beat them 1-0 in the semi-finals.
The Female Students played a goalless first half which saw them missing a few chances which they regretted at the end of the match.
Gaborone United Ladies had Yebo Modise to thank for her 82 minutes goal which made the difference henceforth propelling them to the final where they will play South Africa’s University of Western Cape who crushed Young Buffaloes from Eswatini 6-0.
Herentals were marking their debut at the CAF Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers tournament, becoming the second Zimbabwean team to play in the prestigious women’s club competition after Black Rhinos Queens who represented the country in 2021. — NewZimbabwe
