HARARE – FC Platinum beat Bulawayo Chiefs 1-0 at Luveve on Saturday to climb to the top of the Zimbabwe premier soccer league ladder on a day that saw Simba Bhora and Ngezi Platinum both register 3-0 triumphs over their opponents.
Davison Marowa struck for FC Platinum after 39 minutes for what would later become the all-important decider of the clash.
At Heart stadium, Khama Billiat scored for Yadah after 63 minutes to cancel out a first half strike by Manica Diamonds’ Charles Teguru in a match that ended with opponents tied on 1-1.
In a clash played at Wadzanai, Simba Bhora were triumphant 3-0 winners over Bulawayo Chiefs, thanks to a double strike by Tymon Machope after 3 and 73 minutes and bonus effort by Mthokozisi Msebe after 54 minutes.
At Baobab, champions Ngezi Platinum routed Chicken Inn by a similar margin with first half goals by Talent Chamboko and Takunda Benhura.
Obriel Chirinda hammered the final nail on the Bulawayo side’s coffin with a third strike with just a minute left on the referee’s watch.
Following Saturday’s Match Day 15 round of premiership fixtures, FC Platinum are top on 31 points while Manica Diamonds dropped to second on 30 from the same number of matches played.
Simba Bhora remained third on 27 points while Ngezi Platinum climbed to number 4 on 24.
