DYNAMOS interim coach Lloyd ‘Mablanyo’ Chigowe is confident that his team will beat Zambian side Zesco United in the second leg match of the CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round one match scheduled for Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Affectionately known as ‘Dembare’, Dynamos walks into this match boasting a 1-0 win over the opponents, thanks to midfielder Tanaka Shandirwa, who scored the solitary goal in the first match played this past Sunday when they hosted Zesco United in Botswana.
Although a draw will see them through to the next round, Chigowe says he is setting his sight on a win.
“It’s not going to be an easy game but Dembare are not push overs. We want to win this game and progress to the next round.
“We will build from the first game and do our best to get the result we want,” said Chigowe.
Dynamos is marking its return in continental club football and for Chigowe that is one of the major boosts for his players whom he believes want to make history for themselves.
“Its always good for any players to represent a club in CAF and these boys are somehow motivated to push for positive results.
“So everyone is giving their all for us to get the result we want,” he added.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s CAF Champions League representatives Ngezi Platinum Stars will be hoping for a good run in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where they face AS Miniema in the second leg of the preliminary round one match scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
Nicknamed ‘Madamburo’ which is Shona translation for thrashers, Ngezi Platinum played a nill all draw last week when they hosted Miniema in Zambia at the Heroes National Stadium and a win in Saturday’s clash will see them through to the next round. — NewZimbabwe
