CAPS United has dissolved its technical team led by Ian Bakala following a disappointing 2025 league campaign.
Bakala, who took charge in May after the dismissal of Lloyd Chitembwe, struggled to reverse the Green Machine’s fortunes despite being given the green light to strengthen the squad during the mid-season transfer window.
The Zambian coach only managed to steer CAPS United out of the relegation zone with one match left, prompting the club’s hierarchy to act.
Reports suggest that Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Takesure Chiragwi is set to replace Bakala as head coach. Sources within the club say the highly rated tactician is expected to be unveiled on Friday.
While Chiragwi’s appointment appears certain, it remains unclear whether Bakala will stay on in any capacity, including the possibility of serving as an assistant under the new setup.
