UPN leader Mr Garikai Muza

United People’s Nation (UPN), founded in August 2021 and  registered with Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) , claims to be the change that Zimbabwe is looking for to reach its full potential as a country.
By Shantel Chisango.
Led by Garikai Muza, UPN envisions a country where citizens are able to express their needs and be able to get them, a country where leaders take heed to pleas of citizens.
“My vision is to hear from the general population with regards to the standards of living they would want. We use a bottom-top approach hence wearing a servant leadership jacket,” said Muza.
Embarking on the political journey
Muza pointed out that he had no intention of becoming a politician, but it was a calling  that he could not refuse.
He went on to say that the name of the party, the slogan, the regalia, and logo were shown to him by God.
“When l answered the calling, the name UPN was given, the logo, the Regalia, the slogan UPN Peace, UPN Runyararo, UPN Ukuthula was given,” he said.
Initiatives towards establishing the party
The party claims to have done so much with regard to building a strong opposition party. Muza highlights that his party has grown to be established in 10 provinces.
Commenting on his party’s chance in the 2028 elections, Muza stated that they recently embarked on the political journey, hence they will do what the electorate tells them to do.
He stated that political dispute needs to be addressed and approached holistically by inclusion of all voices that matter. The churches, civil society organizations, various interests groups, must be heard and allowed to add their voice.
When asked if UPN can survive Zimbabwean political era considering there are two parties which are highly recognised, Mr Muza said the party is more than capable in surviving amidst the existing parties.
He parted by saying, “fear not for God has risen a God-fearing president Garikai Muza.”
