National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha
CHINHOYI, Nov. 12 (NewsDay Live) — The ruling Zanu PF party has set up a board of inquiry to probe allegations of embezzlement, insubordination, and incompetence within its Mashonaland West provincial structures.
According to a letter dated November 11, 2025, and signed by National Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha, the inquiry will be chaired by Lazarus Dokora. The directive, addressed to provincial chairperson Mary Miswa, said the board would investigate a series of alleged administrative and financial irregularities involving senior party officials in the province.
The probe will reportedly focus on claims of unprofessional conduct, insubordination, and factionalism by the Provincial Administrator, as well as allegations of verbal abuse and misconduct against the Kadoma district coordinator. It will also investigate alleged embezzlement of funds by the provincial finance and transport officer and the whereabouts of party vehicles in Kadoma district.
Machacha instructed the inquiry team to begin work on November 12 and to submit its findings and recommendations by November 14, 2025. The board has also been mandated to pursue any additional leads relating to suspected financial irregularities across the province.
“The party Secretary-General, Jacob Mudenda, has appointed the board to investigate allegations of embezzlement of party funds and staff incompetency in Mashonaland West Province,” the letter reads in part.
“Your cooperation at all times is highly appreciated,” Machacha added.
The investigation comes amid growing concerns within Zanu PF over accountability and discipline at provincial level. Party insiders say the leadership is increasingly determined to curb corruption and mismanagement to safeguard Zanu PF’s integrity ahead of future political engagements. — NewsDay
