THREE men from Redcliff had to endure a beating and stabbings on their buttocks after eight armed robbers pounced on them and got away with US$100, smartphones and clothes.
The three — Nkosana Hlahla, Sandile and Makosi Sikhosana were walking along a road in Redcliff town at around 9pm this week on Monday when the eight robbers who were armed with sticks and knives pounced on them.
A source close to the incident said one of the robbers ordered the trio to lie on the ground. At first they resisted prompting the robbers to attack them.
“They manhandled them before assaulting them with sticks all over the body. They also stabbed them on the buttocks and left them with multiple stab wounds,” said the source.
As if that was not enough, they searched them and took US$100, three cellphones and a satchel that contained their clothes.
They fled with the loot and left them lying on the ground. The source went on to say a Good Samaritan ferried the trio to Kwekwe General Hospital.
They later reported the matter to the police. Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts is urged to call any nearest police station.
