South African gospel musician Khaya Mthethwa has said that he regards his divorce as the most painful chapter of his life, revealing that it was an ordeal that he never wants to repeat again.
The 37-year-old, who is also a pastor, divorced his wife of two years, former Miss South Africa Ntando Kunene, in 2019.
In a podcast interview on the “Podcast, Radio & Stuff” platform, the renowned singer-songwriter and radio presenter said that divorce was not something that he wished on anyone, as it had left him an emotional wreck.
“I think that it is the most painful thing I have ever gone through in my life. I don’t wish divorce on anyone. In actual fact, I will never divorce again,” he shared.
Mthethwa said that the end of his union with Kunene had led to a lengthy period of self-introspection and doubt, as he tried to reshape his life without the person he had chosen as his life partner.
“I cannot describe to you how you question everything. How you have to rebuild yourself, rebuild your confidence, rebuild your perspective on love, and rebuild your perspective on family and children, etc.,” he said.
