POLICE have arrested two men suspected of committing murder in Kadoma and Mudzi.
The arrest of Prosper Mugagauri (21) and Takudzwa Bonda (25) by the police comes as the country is grappling with a surge in grisly murders.
In a statement yesterday, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Mugagauri was arrested in connection with a murder case that occurred on Monday at Domain business centre in Kadoma.
He allegedly fatally stabbed Tariro Baye with a knife on the neck after a dispute during a beer drinking spree.
Meanwhile, Bonda was arrested after he allegedly killed his 77-year-old father, Killion Bonda.
Nyathi said Bonda struck Killian multiple times on the head with a stone causing severe head injuries.
He said Bonga then mutilated his father’s body. He cut off his private parts and inserted a walking stick in his backside.
Meanwhile, police in Harare are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of robbery which occurred on Tuesday this week at a warehouse along Coventry Road in Workington, Southerton.
Nyathi said 12 unknown suspects attacked three security guards who were on duty at the premises before making off with US$25 115 and a laptop. — NewsDay
